Hacking - when a player hits an opponent on the hand or forearm while trying to knock the ball away. This results in a personal foul.
Half-court offense - The offense run by a team after getting the ball into the frontcourt
Half-court press - a press that is applied when the opposing team gets the ball to the frontcourt.
Hand check - when a player uses one or both hands continuously on an opposing player. This results in a personal foul.
Held ball - when two opposing players have possession of the ball at the same time and neither can gain sole possession without being aggressive. The ball is said to be "blown dead"
High post - the area in the frontcourt where the center is often positioned.
Holding - when one player uses his hands to interfere or limit another players' freedom of movement.
Hook shot - A one-handed shot on which the player is sideways to the basket and the ball is released above the head from the hand farthest from the basket.
Hoop - the rim and net that is attached to the basketball backboard; also known as the basket
